Dr. Carolyn F. Davis
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University of Ohio and my medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. I then completed my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at George Washington University Hospital.
Teaching and training future doctors is very important to me and I spend time lecturing and mentoring medical students as an Assistant Professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Inova Campus. After having the honor of practicing Obstetrics for 16 years, I switched to practicing gynecology only so that I could spend more time with my adolescent children.
I enjoy taking care of women of all ages and I feel every patient deserves to get her questions answered and concerns addressed. In furtherance of that goal, I recently wrote the book, “100 Questions and Answers About Your Daughter’s Sexual Wellness and Development.” The health and wellbeing of young women is a favorite topic of mine. I have been included in the Washingtonian’s Top Doctors in 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2017.
I enjoy spending time with my very supportive husband and two children. I love to cook, practice yoga, and explore the outdoors. A fun fact about me is that two of my great, great aunts graduated from the Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, the first medical school for women in this country, and one founded the Lillian Harris Memorial Hospital for women in Korea in 1901 where she served as a medical missionary.
